Check this video from the groundbreaking ceremony at Spin, a new 13,000 square foot ping pong social club on Park Avenue in Manhattan. The concept, design and materials are all top notch. I especially like the addition of robotic ping pong ball machines...the ultimate training partners.
Here are a few pictures of the current, raw space. We’ve got some work to do.
Thanks to our good friends at Seamar Construction and Historic Charleston, here is a list of the most recent tenants of 301 King, as found in the Old Codgers' Charleston Address Book, 1900-1999 and other ye olde publications.
A shot of what will be the front entrance for Blue Ion HQ....from an alley right off of Liberty Street. The old mural for Hart Schaffner & Marx is pretty sweet. It's peeling and in bad shape, so we'll need to see what we do with it.

It all started back in 1999 in a shared office...actually a broom closet...at 405 King Street. The 3 partners shared a 250 sq ft room with our poor intern Liza before expanding to a 2nd 250 sq ft room when Mike (later converting to employee) and Helen came aboard.
We like to think that interactive development has many parallels with the architecture and building trades. The discovery process, experiential design, project management, collaborative teamwork, and more. But nothing we do on a daily basis prepared us for the adventure of finding and locking down a permanent home. The design and construction are cake and cookies by comparison.
Here's a map and a few photos to help you place the new place. Sorry for the dated imagery....they don't show the new College of Charleston facility right behind us....we'll update with some new aerials as soon as we can get up in the air or Google updates their shots from street or space.
