Offices of Blue Ion Past

Fri, Mar 13, 2009

Team

It all started back in 2000 in a shared office…actually a windowless broom closet…at 405 King Street. The 3 partners shared a 250 sq ft room with our poor intern Liza before expanding to a 2nd 250 sq ft room in 2002 when Mike and Helen came aboard.

We then moved just up the street to 73 1/2 Wentworth Street. Rich first moved in as a roommate in this ENORMOUS apartment, but later managed to take over the whole place for Blue Ion’s use. Blue Ion operated on the 2nd floor, while he occupied the 3rd floor as living quarters (many time awaking to RP’s music blaring from downstairs). A good run for 4 years, but it came to an end in 2006 to make room for the condo craze. During the last year Rich began dedicating himself to his obsession to find something as cool as Wentworth.

With the help of Mike Shuler of CBRE, we landed another great, but temporary, space on the 4th floor of the Cigar Factory. Seemingly this would be only guaranteed for 3 months as the building was being sold. We got a reprieve and stayed for over a year. While here, we developed a great relationship with the new owners of the Cigar Factory (and developed their website and interactive marketing elements).

In 2008, we moved down to the 1st floor to make room for progress of the Cigar Factory project, thanks to our friends here, and have been here another year. All the while continuing the quest for the permanent home.
